The Driven Diesel Regulated Return Kit for the 99-03 Powerstroke Super Duty is an important part of the fuel system upgrade process. This kit eliminates the "dead-head" stock fuel rails and provides adjustable fuel pressure capability to the Powerstroke fuel system. This is accomplished by tying the end of each fuel rail together through a Bypass Fuel Pressure Regulator. The Driven Diesel Regulated Return Kit also includes replacement Fuel Feed Lines (from the fuel filter to the cylinder heads) that eliminate the stock Check Valves and the "kinks and crimps" of the stock feed lines.

The primary benefits of this kit are significantly increased fuel flow "through" the heads, eliminating starvation of the #8 cylinder and ensuring that each fuel injector has adequate fuel quantity and pressure all the time. Additionally, any air "bubbles" that may develop in the fuel system can pass through the heads and out the regulators return port to the tank, instead of through the fuel injectors...resulting in increased injector life and less injector noise. If you are installing new injectors (stock or aftermarket), we HIGHLY RECOMMEND one of our Regulated Return kits to protect your investment and maximize your performance!

FUEL SYSTEM KIT CHANGES: We have made some changes to our Standard 7.3L fuel system kits. In an effort to keep our kit as compatible with the most different aftermarket configurations of turbochargers, the new design kit will mount the regulator mounted off the alternator bolts, leaving the "Y" manifold free of any fuel system components. This will allow the installation of aftermarket turbocharger setups (like the H2E or ATS or others with a custom "Y" manifold) as well as use with the AFE Blade Runner and other aftermarket manifolds.



IMPORTANT NOTES...PLEASE READ!!!!!:
  1. ALL Kits WILL clear "Stealth" and "Terminator" High Pressure Oil Pump Setups.
  2. We DO NOT currently have fuel system kits for the BTS Twin or Swamps GenIII HPOP Systems.
  3. PLEASE DO NOT HESITATE TO CALL US IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS!

BIO-DIESEL NOTE: While we've taken steps to significantly improve the bio-diesel compatibilty of our fuel system kits, we still recommend bio concentrations of B20 or less. Higher concentrations can negatively impact the glues used to assemble most fuel filter elements.


IMPORTANT NOTE REGARDING FUEL PRESSURE GAUGES: ALL Driven Diesel fuel system kits are shipped with the liquid filled gauge UNINSTALLED and an appropriate plug for the pressure gauge port included. Due to continuing issues with locating a 1.5" Liquid Filled 100psi pressure gauge that will survive in the high temperature and vibration environment of the Powerstroke engine compartment, we are making the following recommendations:

  • Because we feel it is vital to know what the fuel pressure is doing on modified Powerstroke engines while under driving conditions, we HIGHLY RECOMMEND the use of an ELECTRIC IN-CAB Fuel Pressure Gauge like those available from AutoMeter (and most other gauge manufacturers). This is the only way to monitor fuel pressure and be aware if there are any pressure/flow problems while under load...when it's the most critical.
  • If you can't afford or don't want to do an in-cab fuel pressure gauge, we are recommending that the underhood gauge only be used for the initial setting of the system fuel pressure, occasional pressure checks or for limited time installation if you are diagnosing a problem. The Powerstroke environment seems to be too harsh for reliable long-term operation of these gauges, and as such we cannot offer any kind of warranty on them.
